The term Metioscope reiferes to a series of Emission Electron Microscopes produced by Trüb Täuber & Co and later Balzers. It is a special type of electron microscope, where the sample its self is the cathode and emits the electrons which are viewed within the machine. This emission is induced by many methods, such as Ion Bombardment, Photo Electrons from UV and X-Ray radiation, Thermal Emission, Field Emission, etc...
