System Drawing as seen in Bodo von Borries book on the subject of the Electron Microscope

System Description

The AEI EM-2 was the first commercial TEM produced in Britian. It consists of a large Vacuum Vessale, which contains the 2 Electronmagnetic Lneses. An unusual feature of the Microscope is the emmersion of the Lens coils within the same vacuum as the Electron beam. This requires the microscope to have a large vacuum chamber, as can be seen from the System Drawings.
